Aidah Kisumo
Aidah has over 15 years of legal experience, having worked as a Senior State Attorney at the Attorney Generals’ Chambers under the department of Human Rights and Constitutional Affairs and as a Prosecutor under the Director of Public prosecution. She also extensive legal experience working as a corporate lawyer.
Her experience has ranged from the provision of legal advice on diverse procedural and substantive matters relating to the performance, implementation and conduct of the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania; establishing liaison and maintaining good working relations with government departments, parastatal organizations and non-governmental bodies; representing the Government at international, regional or national meetings, serving on various committees, working groups and task forces; preparing international State reports; prosecuting criminal cases in the District Courts, High Court and the Court of Appeal of Tanzania; representing the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania in various prominent civil cases in the High Court and the Court of Appeal of Tanzania as well as other international forums such as the East African Court of Justice (EACJ) and, the African Court on Human and Peoples Rights (AfCHPR).
She has also acted as counsel for various companies advising and giving legal support on numerous corporate matters on issues relating to Oil and Gas, Mining, Hotel and Tourism industry, Internet and Technology, Public Procurement, Contract, Labour, Real Estate, Tax, Investment, Intellectual Property, Sports Law, and Company Secretarial Services.
